Technological affordances I find I've gotten used to and miss when I try to use them and they are not there:
  • the instant replay button on my ReplayTV (I find myself intending to go back 7 seconds when listening to the radio in the car -- y'know, "What was that they said?" -- and remembering I cannot)
  • the wheel on my mouse to scroll back up or down a Web page (pretty much the exact same story as about the instant replay button)
These experiences probably tell something about how a bit of tech becomes ''ready at hand'' or something about people becoming cyborgs. Just thought I'd say.
