Okay a reporter sends a link to an AP article that says lots of blogs are abandoned. Internet Littered With Dead Websites. That's just the beginning. "Her site remains frozen in time." Sounds terrible, until you realize they are no more or less dead than a magazine article that hasn't been updated since it was written (basically all magazine articles). Or even less dead than the archive of a newspaper that's been taken offline to make more money for the publisher. Or wait a year and come back and try that Yahoo News article. It'll be 404 by then. I have a few sites that I myself started with high hopes that nothing much happened with. Or others that have been useful and successful but still haven't changed in years. [Scripting News]

The Kicking Ass weighs in on Threats against our candidates. Via Atrios, we read that conservative Republicans are crossing the line again when discussing our presidential candidates.
Townhall.com columnist Kathleen Parker wrote a column where she quoted a friend as saying our nine candidates "should all be lined up and shot." (Here's a screenshot of the original column, which has since been modified to say "slapped" instead of "shot" -- presumably now misquoting her friend.)
What's important is to understand the strategy behind this kind of disgusting threat. . . . .
