Borders reaches tentative agreement with union. By Greta Guest, Detroit Free Press.
This is the first contract for the 60 workers at the Ann Arbor store, who have been represented since December 2002 by the union.

Workers will be asked to ratify the agreement soon. The union said those on strike could return to their jobs as soon as Friday.

We are all so very pleased with the outcome of this struggle. The spirit, dedication and courage of these Borders workers was very admirable, said Victoria Collins, secretary-treasurer of UFCW Local 876. This effort, which took the extraordinary efforts of its workers, and the supporters from all corners the state made this possible.
