This is pretty cool, if you're not geek-averse:
Gadget Jacket Charged by the Sun, by Kari l. Dean, Wired News.
As we move to an always-on environment, how can people
depend on their device if in three to four hours they are going to lose
their charge? said Scott Jordan, CEO of ScotteVest, which designed the
jacket and its wiring technology.
The jacket has two small snap-on photovoltaic panels that fit onto its
shoulders. These charcoal-gray solar panels convert the sun's rays into
energy, which then feed a hidden battery pack about the size of a deck of
cards. The batteries are wired to all the pockets, which can have almost
any mobile devices plugged into them.
The PAN, or Personal Area Network, used by ScotteVest's Technology Enabled
Clothing division provides jacket-pocket holes and fabric conduits that
connect all the gadgets to each other without exposing any wires. So what
appears to be an unassuming anorak jacket is really a web of wires and
technology in disguise.

Hey, Bush, how about us?. The invaluable Ed Cone on the $1.5B Bush plan to promote marriage:
If George Bush is going to spend tax dollars to promote marriage, he should splash a little cash on the people who prove every day that marriage can work -- members of functional, longterm marriages....
When Lisa and I celebrate our fifteenth anniversary in June, will any of Bush's $1.5 billion be coming our way? A federally-funded night on the town would be nice way of saying, "Thanks for your role in preserving the cornerstone of civilized societies, which this administration values highly for everyone but homosexuals."
Hey, a voucher for a babysitter would be welcome, but I bet we don't even get a card. [Learning the Lessons of Nixon]
