Fun event after dinner last night: Rick Prelinger showed several ephemeral films -- old industrial movies, mainly, that would now or soon be lost to us if someone like Rick wasn't collecting them. These were all films about the future, which made it a shooting-ducks-in-a-barrel thing to comment on them, but it was fun all the same.
