The inimitatable Cory Doctorow -- admit no substitutions -- sends news of

the best internet video mashup evar: the Star Wars Kid (a net-icon famous for having captured his Darth Maul light-staff fights on video, thus becoming the subject of Internet mockery, which led to a really bogus lawsuit) matted extremely well into the Kill Bill trailer. David Bowie invites fans to bootleg his songs to create mash-ups.

David Bowie has today asked his fans (DJs...) to bootleg songs of his latest album "Reality" to create a new song (mash-up).
"A number of entries will be broadcast via the Bowienet website, with listeners selecting finalists before Bowie chooses the winner."
This is one of the first times a major international artist gives the right to do that and encourage people from all over the world to create a new art piece like this.
