Three from BNA News:
  1. CISCO SEEKS RESTRAINING ORDER ON SECURITY FLAW RESEARCH Cisco Systems has taken legal action to keep a researcher from further discussing a hack into its router software. The networking giant and Internet Security Systems jointly filed a request Wednesday for a temporary restraining order against Michael Lynn and the organizers of the Black Hat security conference. The motion came after Lynn showed in a presentation how attackers could take over Cisco routers.
  2. EBAY SEEKS SUPREME COURT PATENT RULING EBay has asked the US Supreme Court to decide a patent issue currently pitting the computer technology and pharmaceutical industries against one another in Congress. The petition asks the Supreme Court to hear an appeal on whether eBay and other companies held liable for patent infringement should be routinely subject to injunctions while such cases are on appeal.
  3. TEENS PREFER IM OVER E-MAIL According to a survey released by the Pew Internet and American Life Project, US teenagers now prefer instant messaging to communicate with each other online, saying that e-mail is for grown-ups. Internet users from 12 to 17 years old say e-mail is best for talking to parents or institutions, but they are more likely to fire up IM when talking with each other [Washington Post]
