Student Made Up Homeland Security Story.

South Coast Daily: Federal agents' visit was a hoax. The UMass Dartmouth student who claimed to have been visited by Homeland Security agents over his request for "The Little Red Book" by Mao Zedong has admitted to making up the entire story.

This kid has done real harm to the civil liberties movement. Now, when the real thing happens, fewer people will believe it.

Why, if someone really clever were in charge of the security apparatus, wouldn't it be a fine strategy to sow doubt in just such a manner?
