From BNA News:
MICROSOFT TO PUBLISH ITS PRIVACY RULES
Microsoft plans in August to publicly release the privacy
rules its employees have to follow when developing products.
Microsoft says the move, which offers a look behind the
scenes at the company, is meant to give the industry an
example of what the software giant sees as best practices in
customer privacy.

Michael Geist writes:CANADIAN GOV'T PAYS LOBBY GROUP TO
LOBBY ON COPYRIGHT
My weekly Law Bytes column reports on a Canadian government
contract that provides financial backing to one group to
lobby on copyright policy. The group, the Creators Rights
Alliance, advised the Department of Canadian Heritage that
the education community was "devoted to abolishing creators'
rights on the Internet." The contract, potentially worth
nearly $400,000, raises questions about the transparency and
fairness of such public funding. Deeply strange for a
government to lobby itself. By advancing falsehoods, no less. Great.
