I hope nobody is surprised by this. Microsoft delays "smart display" push. Microsoft won't deliver Windows CE for Smart Displays for the holidays, delaying until at least the first quarter of 2003 portable monitors that use the software. [CNET News.com]

They have consistently over the years announced new software intitiatives - either to back out, delay or completely revamp what they announce in public."
I was once at a software developer's meeting at Microsoft - when they announced they were no longer supposrting OS/2. Most of the developers in the room were happy, except for the poor schmuck sitting next to me.
He had mortgaged his house, and was about to see his company go - "bye-bye". So the moral of the story is - don't believe Microsoft - they're followers, not leaders.
