A picture named megnut.gifIn mid-June, Megnut wrote a definitive piece entitled What We're Doing When We Blog. It's a baseline to develop from. So many others skim the surface and make superficial statements about weblogs, but miss that there is something going on both at a techical level, and at a democracy and citizenship level. Weblogs are deceptively simple and not easy to grasp. Meg, one of our most experienced and thoughtful writers, has spent years immersed in the medium. In that is the secret sauce. Weblogs give voices to people with big experience. Lots more to say about this, past and present. [Scripting News]

I won't be linking to every article on weblogs but this one has peaked my interest.

Clinton Rejects Blame in Corporate Crisis, Criticizes Bush on Mideast (washingtonpost.com). Former president Bill Clinton has chastised the Bush administration for suggesting he bears part of the blame for the corporate accounting scandals and said President Bush made a mistake with his first-year Middle East policy. [Daypop Top News Stories]

I didn't always agree with President Clinton but I admired his composure in front of the cameras.  Now, I have a TV for playing CDs and DVDs -- and some taped VHS Sci-Fi series that my wife has while we eventually upgrade them to DVD -- and cut down to the free four stations, what, you want me to watch Ari Fleisher?  Yeah, right!

Clinton has a right to criticize the Bush Administration, they've slammed him a few times.  They don't like my PM very much either but Canadians haven't had much of a choice, that may be changing.

So where's the rush of people who want to have first post on this entry? Are you out there? Will I have to get my mom to do it? Oh yeah, what was I thinking telling you what I had for lunch? I mean, who really cares about that? "If I could inspire just one person to eat a turkey, lettuce and mayo sandwich on whole wheat bread, then my life will be complete." [Squalor and Smock]

I'll try that next time I treat myself to bread -- I've quit and cut down on some things this summer.  You've inspired me, Jessica, it sounds delicious.  If I have any readers on my blog, go say hello to her, I've read some of her writing tonight and she keeps it real.

Get Thee to a Madrassa

MuslimPundit has returned, I look forward to reading this:

[Ed. The following is something I wrote a month after the “My American Jihad” speech incident at Harvard, but was not posted to the site as it remained somewhat incomplete. Clearly, I'm not an expert in this field (yet!). Nonetheless, I decided to blog the article anyway because it contains some general thoughts on the concept of “jihad”.]

I'm waiting for my new headphones to arrive to Radio Shack -- probably another week or so to go -- since the free pair that came with the Audible.com Otis MP3 Player are crapola.  The best cheap headphones are not being sold anymore due to Koss wanting to sell their newer products, that's okay, but it just bothers me that Headroom is still selling the old Koss versions -- but for how long? -- but the shipping to Canada would cost the same as the headphones.  ($60 USD for a $30 USD pair of headphones does not interest me at this time)

Oh well, I should be content that I got the last acceptable pair -- Koss-50 as opposed to the earlier and superior Koss-35.  I wonder why Radio Shack's -- .ca -- selection is so small, my future headphones were only available online.  Amazon.ca is very new and their search engine sucks so when I typed in headphones the results took me to books about headphones or something.  I would have bought from Amazon.com but the headphones I wanted were not available outside of the U.S.A.

If you reside in the U.S.A. or live elsewhere but can afford the shipping fees I've been told to buy from HeadRoom Corp. -- they have reviews too -- and converse, search, etc. about headphones at Head-Fi

The pair I was able to purchase are listed below.

I hope they don't fall out/off of my ears, but what can I expect for $40 Canadian?  (Yeah, that would be around $1 USD)  I hope this pair lasts until I can move up to a $200 pair, or higher, on Google I saw one pair of headphones for twelve-thousand dollars -- maybe it wasn't dollars but it was still way up there and I left the website as quickly as I arrived there. :o)

Comparison between the two can be found here

Koss-50, weird looking but will hopefully sound okay:
