Failed artist? Hardly. In fact, once he found his métier, Adolf Hitler was masterly, first as a dramatic orator and then as an impresario of political theatre... [more] ... [more] (via Arts & Letters Daily)
"Give me one good reason why I should use any mail client other than Pine! Intuitive keystroke commands, uncluttered display, great multiple-message handling, indented quotation in replies which follows the time-honored Usenet standard, and best of all, it's in a shell account on somebody else's machine, so I have total virus protection! I'd like to thank Rogers for replying to my e-mail within a day, just like they said they would -- first customer service company that I'm subscribed to that offered that quick of a response. There was a small error on my first bill, and they not only fixed it, but gave me twenty-five extra minutes free per month on my wireless phone -- I was getting ready to sign up for online billing, but this deal had just expired. Thanks again, Rogers -- I don't ask for much, but please be superior to Hell Canada and Moronotron. (Bell Canada and Videotron) [I blame the companies in general, not the mostly-great employees]
(I didn't even have to call like most places make you do -- with automated crap included, it's too expensive for me to press "1" for "service", "2" for "technical support", etc., now that I pay for AirTime.)
Mosquitos infected with the West-Nile Virus were found around Oka, Quebec -- West of Montreal, I think -- so I'm going to start wearing insect repellant. I still think the media is scaring us more than they should but news is slow, unless you love debating Iraq and Jean Chretien's future.
