A land of guns and whispers Pakistan sweeps its tribal areas for criminals, upsetting the local population and fueling rumors that Taliban fighters are nearby By Phillip Robertson
What a treat to see an article from Phillip again. One of my first posts to this weblog was about how much I enjoyed his coverage just after 9/11. I still want to read the archives of his work for Salon -- I joined Salon Premium as a result of his Afghanistan coverage and I'm glad he's still with us.
William Quick -- who coined "Blogosphere" -- has joined Blogging Network where he will offer premium content for members. I wish him and the others all the best of luck and have just subscribed. Now I have an additional weblog -- comes with the small fee of $2.99 to read all the BN writers -- should Salon.com have problems.
Bill posts around twenty to thirty times a day so he alone is worth $2.99 USD/month, but for that price we get access to all the bloggers on the Blogging Network, very cool. I just posted a comment there and you get an HTML editor when you comment on that network. I must admit I thought Bill was joking -- just like Glenn Reynolds, etc. on April Fools when he linked an article stating that AOHell was purchasing all these blogs, something like that anyway -- when he posted something about Daily Pundit Premium, but he wasn't, and this may be the beginning of something. Writers like Mr. Layne and Mr. Quick -- and many others, check my links and Blogroll Sidebar! -- deserve more than just tip jars for their wonderful blogs, unite readers, unite!

I downloaded a 1.5 second clip -- from Rogers.ca -- of "The Flight of the Bumblebee" (Scroll or search on page) to be used on my phone, I think I like it.
A cool cowpoke gets political Steve Earle, a new disc under his belt, talks about his tumultuous career -- a hair-raising ride that has included many wives, an ugly romance with heroin, and watching a man die
