Have you ever noticed the inverse relationship between how landscaped, manicured, arranged a yard is and how often you see people in it?

First Monday: Rip, Mix, Burn. For the winners, victories are small and incremental, and subject to the next technological assault. For the losers, there is always the possibility of another legal strategy, a different judge and court, and a new technical and legal issue. The politics of the law is always subject to dispute. The copyright battle may never end. [Tomalak's Realm] Must read.

Mirandala 2.0 locks down a blogroll position by playing the Buffy card. As well as smart, funny and subversive, BtVS is a brave show that refuses to sacrifice the story for an LCD audience. Not to mention pretty damned hot on occasion ("When did the building fall down?").

I'm in a (CD) burning hell. My PowerBook has always burned CDs perfectly from OS 9 and, well, never from OS X. I have a low-end Lacie external CD-RW (sidebar: for years I pronounced it "Lay-cee-ah", subconsciously unable to accept a hardware company named "lacy"). Anyway, at first this was a minor annoyance I assumed would be resolved with upgrades from Apple. Last night, dozens of updates later on OS 10.1.5, after installing Apple's latest DiscRecording update and iTunes 3, I burned yet another coaster. That makes 3 new Kodak coasters in two days and to quote Fat Bastard, "O' course I'm no' happy".

Added new day browsing links below the calendar so you can wade through my archives by day. Only archive days that have posts are included. If you're a Radio user, it's described here.
