This is Summerfolk weekend in Owen Sound. Lots of great music. Usually some grumbling about prices, about too many/not enough local performers, about having to drink crappy beer instead of something decent (that's me ;-). But essentially it's a well-run, diverse festival with hordes of eager volunteers, and it draws a lot of people into the area. Looks like an interesting mix of old and new this year. Reliable sources have told me not to miss these guys. Go Keira & Tara! 10:11:36 AM | permalink | comment [] |

I was in London (Canada, that is) yesterday for meetings. Looks like a nicely busy fall working on software documentation and training materials for a new product. On the way down I listened to Stone Free, a Hendrix tribute album featuring Buddy Guy, Chrissy Hynde, The Cure and scads of others. Although I especially like The Cure's version of Purple Haze, it's not exactly guitar-friendly. I am going to add Red House and possibly Bold as Love to my list of covers to learn. 9:30:40 AM | permalink | comment [] |
