Wil Wheaton "The greatest danger to musicians is not Gnutella. It is the label. The greatest danger to actors and film makers is not DeCSS. It is the studio. These corporate masters care little for the artists who are filling their 4 car garages with new Porsches and filling their private jets with fuel and 'hostesses.'" If you close your eyes, you'd swear it was Tuscany "By my estimate there are approximately 9,000 films in existence that I have not seen but would like to, or have seen and would enjoy seeing again. Remarkably, not one of these is ever available for my viewing during the time I spend on an airplane or in a hotel room. How do you do it? I would have thought that the law of averages is such that every now and then you'd accidentally offer a movie I might actually want to see." SUVs will rule the road until fuel-efficiency standards set "In virtually every measurement that counts -- safety, fuel economy, tailpipe emissions -- SUVs register firmly in the danger zone. Higher roll-over rates combined with the vehicles' sheer mass means that SUV occupants and those in the cars they hit are more likely to die in accidents. Fuel economy is abysmal. A recent energy-efficiency study by Natural Resources Canada concluded that SUVs and other light-duty trucks consumed two-thirds more fuel per 100 kilometres than small cars and one-third more than large cars." Gak. Came down with a wicked bug yesterday. Cramps, sore throat, fever. Whee! Can't remember the last time I caught a bug like this in the summer. Hardly seems sporting. 10:37:24 AM | permalink | comment [] |
