Business demands say in Kyoto deal "Business people, she said, want to make sure Ottawa does not ultimately embrace greenhouse gas reduction targets that may prove too onerous to implement without negatively affecting the economy" [National Post: Financial Post]
Everyone wants a say now but who'll be there when the time comes for accountability? Kyoto is modest, not radical. The more time we spend in pennywise deliberation the less time we'll have to get the job done. We will move from consumer to conserver society at some point, the only question is will it be soon enough?

Explaining E-Learning to Executives "Focusing only on the positive aspects of the proposed project is short-sighted. It indicates a lack of maturity on the part of the people making the case. To indicate the soundness of the case, authors must explain the risks associated with pursuing the project--and not pursuing it. E-learning entails definite risks because it involves new technologies, learning methodologies, vendors, equipment, and so on." [elearningpost]

Shame on you "It wasn't until this week that I figured out what she was worried about. She wasn't worried about my nudity as much as what I might be doing without those panties on. And you know what? I wasn't doing anything except exploring the magical feeling of cotton on skin, of cool on hot, of smooth on rough, of skin on fabric, lulling me to sleep. And regardless, should shame be the reaction to a child in wonder? It was the mighty sword that kept me in control, covered, hidden, stuffing curiosity and wonder in place of fear of retribution." Boxes and Arrows: Building the Beast: Talking with Peter Morville. "Believe it or not, we do actually define information architecture in the second edition. Here are our formal definitions:
  1. The combination of organization, labeling, and navigation schemes within an information system.
  2. The structural design of an information space to facilitate task completion and intuitive access to content.
  3. The art and science of structuring and classifying web sites and intranets to help people find and manage information.
  4. An emerging discipline and community of practice focused on bringing principles of design and architecture to the digital landscape."

Today so far:
  1. Woke up before the alarm with an elaborate and curious dream in my mind, so I got up and wrote it down. I've never done this before, but that's what happens when you start reading psychology. Soon I'll be on my couch listening to me analyze myself.
  2. Started working on a Radio project with a custom upstream driver. Discovered Radio/Windows doesn't handle shortcuts. Gak. Thanks to regex I'm almost through with what should have been easy.
  3. Biked to the Y for a workout and then did some banking.
  4. Performed emergency surgery on a Manila site .
  5. Had our family dinner at my mother-in-law's: roast chicken, lasagna, mandarin salad, baked potatoes and carrots. And apple crumble for dessert. Mmmmmm.
