Spafford On Infrastructure Risks [Slashdot]

Eugene Spafford has been doing security for a LONG TIME.  This report he wrote for the American Association for the Advancement of Science lays out what we're in store for if society doesn't start taking computer security risks seriously.  A lot of "security professionals" start screaming FUD when politicians talk about Cyberterrorism, but these same folks probably would have screamed FUD if someone had brought up planes being purposefully flown into buildings before 9/11.

Computer security isn't something you can slap on top of a broken infrastruture.  Computers and the way we use them need to be re-thought, re-engineered, and re-built if the modern world's infrastructure is to stand a chance.

Phew, that was a lot of news to trudge through.  Now that I'm done, the rest of the evening will be spent with my good friend Jack, burning some new shows from Furthur, which is even cooler than the coolest thing since sliced bread.  BTW, if anyone is interested in good live music, i'm always open to some etrades.  My (slightly out of date) list of shows is available for your consideration.  Until tomorrow...I'm still Wozz.

Pitt Seeks Raise and Promotion. The SEC chairman seeks more money -- for himself. [The Motley Fool]

I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise that a Bush appointee is an idiot, but really ... timing?

JetBlue Flies High. Business soars with little turbulence for this low-cost carrier. [The Motley Fool]

JetBlue is awesome.  I flew them last year (just before September 11th) to a wedding.  I've flown a LOT on all sorts of different airlines.  JetBlue blows them all away, even though they're a 'budget' carrier.  Leather seats, DirectTV, cheap fares ... whats not to love?

LinuxWorld: Solaris for Intel to return on new Sun server. 'Big Bear' to run Linux OS on Intel chips [InfoWorld: Top News]

Sun really needs to figure out what the hell their focus is.  They're all over the place.  Are they a software company, a server company, a desktop company....
