"The Security Council unanimously approved a tough new Iraq resolution Friday, forcing Saddam Hussein to disarm or face "serious consequences" that would almost certainly mean war."

The text of the resolution is available here.  The US gave in, it would appear, to French and Russian concerns on the "automatic" use of force in case of obstruction of inspections by Iraq.
