Hated - G.G. Allin and the Murder Junkies

Just finished watching Hated, the G.G. Allin (and the Murder Junkies) documentary.  I first saw it back in 1993 at the Coolidge Corner theater in Brookline, MA.  We'd gone to see Spike and Mike and they were sold out.  The other screen was showing a double billing of a mockumentary on hunting bald eagles, and Hated.  I'd heard of G.G. Allin before, but had not experienced his "art."  Needless to say, the documentary was a little frightening, but hey, if you're not scared, its not punk.  If you've ever been into punk at all, you really need to check it out.  Plus, the DVD has 50 extra minutes of footage documenting G.G.'s last day on earth.

Incidently, the man behind the documentary - Todd Phillips - is also the man behind the Tom Green flick - Road Trip, the Phish documentary - Bittersweet Motel, and appears to be working on a film version of Starsky and Hutch, starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson.  Is Starsky and Hutch punk rock?
