So yesterday we talked about oil. Tonight I saw a commercial put on by White House Office of National Drug Control Policy through their vehicle of National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign which is branding the antidrug.com. The premise of the commercials and the governments current push is that money spent on drugs goes to terrorists. Of course that is true. That is a function of the illegality. Everyone who deals with any commodity; be it marijuana, or mini skirts, or the right of people to freely speak, which has been outlawed is bound to involve weapons and violence. The government by calling any arbitrary act illegal creates a black market for that act or commodity. Its classic supply and demand. When something is illegal it makes it rarer, hence it becomes more valuable.

I'll give you a good analogy. When you were about 4-5 years old you had a lot of barbies. You really enjoyed them and in our apartment building lived a woman who worked at Barbie's home and who kept you supplied with several of the dolls. One day it seemed as though they had all moved in. All your friends loved them because they never were allowed to have them. In fact they loved them so when they came over that they would become possesive and you always felt left out when they played with Barbie.

more soon
