posted by PenDevil at October 17 2:02 AM. My name's not Brian! Ryan Adams gives a fan a refund and asks him to leave a concert when said fan asks him to play "Summer of '69". Have you ever been to a concert where the performer lost it at the audience? I guess even folk rockers can be divas... [MetaFilter] heh. I can't blame him. For the last year and a half, I've been telling people "You've got to listen to Ryan Adams - he's great!" and they almost always say something about Summer of 69 or something like that. True, many of them are just trying to be funny, but still...maybe Ryan should have chosen a better stage name. |

TRL Protest Falls On Durst Ears. Plastic::Music::MTV: "They sat through a portion of the show, then stormed the stage and urged kids in the studio and across the country to stop the war. They were quickly scuttled off the stage." [Plastic: Most Recent] 'cos, well, rock 'n roll isn't supposed to be political. Or something. Makes me think, though - beyond the Hollywood lefties (Sarandon et al), have any significant entertainment figures/celebrities spoken out about Iraq yet? They were all so quick to "support" NYC last fall, from all over the political spectrum. Is it really the case that no modern rock stars care about the Iraq situation? |
