Ok, it looks like it's the TrackBack functionality itself that needs the post to have a title. I've tweaked my item template to not show the item title (it really just annoys me) so now I just need to figure out a way to have Radio give a default title to all my posts... |

Question - does Radio's TrackBack only work if the post has a title? It seems that way, but I'm not 100% sure... |

My old friend Laura responded to my post re: the 77% of Americans who disapproved of moving the 10 Commandments down in 'Bama. She said:
I've had some discussions with a pollster friend of mine about what demographics the Democrats should be targetting for 2004. I've argued for 20- and 30-somethings, as have a bunch of others at American Prospect, the Nation, etc...my friend says that the young aren't going to vote no matter what, so focus on the old, and the Boomers. I can't help but think that's really, really stupid. The legendary Generations X and Y are significantly more liberal on social issues than any previous generation - especially issues of gay rights, privacy, etc... While we're not going to see a massive wave of previously non-voting liberal kids coming to the polls, by focusing at least some on social liberal issues, we can get people like Laura's talking about to vote. |

Kerry launches US presidential bid. Prominent Democratic Senator John Kerry announces he is seeking to challenge George Bush in the 2004 poll. [BBC News | News Front Page | UK Edition] And, strangely, no one seemed to care... |

I have a new infatuation - Wesley Clark. That's a new POLITICAL infatuation, of course. I keep hoping for a Democratic savior to come along, someone I feel can beat Bush and WILL beat Bush. Dean, I've got my doubts. Kerry, yeah, well... Edwards I had a thing for, but he doesn't stand a chance at the nomination. He'll have his time later. The real dream is, of course, that Al Gore comes back, but that ain't gonna happen. So whenever someone else seems to be the White Knight of my dreams, I go all fluttery. Clark's got me like that right now. I'll try to explain what actually DOES appeal about him later. For right now, I'm just going to sigh longingly... |

PS3 will play PS2, PSone games. Official. Emulation station [The Register] Goodie - that means I'll be able to retire the PS2 once the PS3 comes out - here's hoping the XBox 2 follows the same route. |

Scott Rosenberg mentions Filchyboy writing a poem through his referral logs - which are, of course, completely wiped out now, days later. I remember a few years back, shortly after Gnutella came out, being entranced by watching the query logs that came through. I started throwing questions into the search history, trying to see if anyone else was just sitting there watching it like me. There were - we had a little conversation, hidden between searchs for Britney Spears Nude and Limp Bizkit Nookie... |

So in response to my post expressing gratitude for the Mariners playing (and losing!) to the Red Sox, I received two comments from Mariners fans. I didn't think there were that many. =) *ducks* |

Just because I don't post for a few days doesn't mean I've vanished - just that I'm busy. =) I'll try to post more often the next few days. I got a box of books from Amazon last week and that kind of absorbed what little of my free time wasn't already taken by Arwen and Halo. =) Oh, and interesting news - I've won one of the free tickets (for lack of a better term) to BloggerCon at Harvard next month. I'm willing to bet that there'll be WiFi in the conference rooms, so hey, maybe I can be a real metablogger and blog about blogging at a blog conference. I'm sure I'll get a headache, but hey, it's all in good fun, right? =) |
