Man dies on Disneyland ride. A man is killed and another 10 people are injured after a rollercoaster car derails at Disneyland park in California. [BBC News | World | UK Edition] *THAT* is why I don't do rollercoasters, thanks. |

Glenn Reynolds, Fascist Hatemonger. All the evidence is here. [Eschaton] Interesting piece linked to here on Glenn Reynolds of InstaPundit, Blog God. I have friends who would never describe themselves as "conservatives" who are avid InstaPundit readers - they seem to think Reynolds is a libertarian. But I wonder how they're reacting to the whole Bustamante/MEChA bullshit - I guess libertarians are allowed to lie and bend the truth and generally mudsling and smear, too... |

Heinlein From Beyond the Grave. HEINLEIN FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE....It appears that a Robert Heinlein scholar has located a complete manuscript of Heinlein's first, unpublished novel:"For Us, the Living" was written by Heinlein about 1938-9, before he wrote his first sf short, "Lifeline." The novel,... [CalPundit] Which is more freaky, novels coming out 15 years after their author's death, or 5 freakin' Tupac albums since his death just about exactly 7 years ago? |

Just to give us all a sense of how long that whole Ten Commandments thing has been going on in 'Bama - I'm watching a rerun of the 13th episode ever of The West Wing - and they're making fun of the ludicrousness of Roy Moore hanging the Commandments in his courtroom. Uh, that means it's been public knowledge for 4+ years that this is goofy. Get with the program, people! |

Sometimes, looking at your referrers can be embarrassing - there's nothing quite like discovering that you're in the top 10 on Google for searching on a typo to make you feel smart... |

The Wes wing?. Supporters say Wesley Clark can do to Bush what he did to Milosevic. But first the telegenic military hero has to take on Howard Dean. [Salon Headlines] Clark's Web warriors. The Draft Clark movement started on the Internet, and could challenge Dean's machine for online dominance -- if its rival factions can stop fighting. [Salon Headlines] The first article is just another in the line of "Clark might be running! He's interesting! Downsides and upsides!" stories - well-written, relatively unbiased, but nothing really new. The second article is more interesting - delving into the people leading the Draft Clark movement. One thing that doesn't seem to get mentioned that often in these Clark articles - if he declares, he's very likely to get an official endorsement and support from Bill Clinton. That, in and of itself, will count for a LOT with the Democrat base. |

Jeeze, my comment count disappeared over the weekend by itself. Code looks fine. It does look like I got some of my GoogleRank back over the weekend (thanks guys). The RSS feeds from my weblog don't work on My Yahoo unfortunately. LOL. I am a cork on the ocean of the Internet. [John Robb's Weblog] Looks like John had the same problem I had, whatever that was. I know Lawerence Lee of Userland did *something* that fixed it, but I don't know what. Then again, John's got a better chance at figuring it out from the backend or getting Userland techies to tell him what's up than I do. =) |

Damn! I've lost all productivity for today - I made the mistake of wandering by Ethnologue, and now I'm going to be browsing various linguistic pages for the rest of the day. Not that I really mind, obviously, but I feel a wee bit guilty. =) |
