Clarks in Space...! Just to make Clark even MORE appealing, take a look at this article from the New Yorker - Clark spoke at a group of (mainly) Oxford alums in the New York area, said the typically good things...and outted himself as a sci-fi fan. More specifically, he said that he wanted to be an astronuat when he was a kid, and that he was inspired by Bradbury's "Martian Chronicles". Ok, even if he didn't seem to be the best chance to beat Bush and an all-around quality candidate, he'd get my vote: first presidential candidate to drop Ray Bradbury's name that I've ever seen. Sweet. =)

Hey! Nifty! The guys at The Clark Sphere (who are also involved with DraftClark.com) have put me in their Clark-friendly blogroll. I'd say I'm definitely Clark-friendly - I need to do a little more research to be sure, but right now, he's far and away the most exciting (potential) candidate we've got.

On the eve of the second anniversary of 9/11, Bush will make a speech at 3:15 ET today announcing a new terror bill--a remake of the bill known as Patriot Act II. Now if we could just get Wil Wheaton to show up... Did I mention that Adam Curry, ex-MTV VJ, is going to be at BloggerCon, too? And it looks like I'm lucky to be living as close to Harvard as I do - Adam's having a hard time finding a hotel AND is paying 4 thousand dollars for a business class flight. Me, I'm just worrying where I'll park and how I'll get home if I drink.

Warren Ellis Write A Book WITHOUT Pictures Warren Ellis takes up prose [bOing bOing] Oooooh...Warren's got a book coming out late '04/early '05. And it doesn't seem like it'll be marketed as a genre piece, either, from what he's said. Here's the press release from HarperCollins: Senior Editor Josh Behar has just acquired rights from Lydia Wills of Writers and Artists to the first novel by best-selling comic book writer Warren Ellis, who has authored two of DC's hottest franchises; The Authority and Transmetropolitan. This comic tour of the dark underbelly of American culture features a down-and-out private detective who is hired by heroin-addled G-men to find the lost Constitution to the United States. Publication is slated for Winter/Spring 05. (from here) In an email to his Bad Signal mailing list announcing this, Warren noted that that should say lost SECRET Constitution - which makes more sense. In any case, should be fun stuff. I'm *assuming* that she's the most recent person to get here via a Google or Yahoo search for my name, because the hits were at the right time to be her and she's got a history of it. And 'cos I doubt there are that many people who are actually looking for ME on the 'net...)

I'm feeling insecure - I came across a list of BloggerCon attendees and, well, they're all a lot cooler and more interesting than I am. Or at least their blogs are. Either they're blogging about Important Things, or they're blogging more coherently than me about Nonimportant Things. All I've got going for me is some snarkiness and a nifty background. Eh. Well, it should be interesting nonetheless - I may not have anything to contribute, but everyone else's discussions should be worth sitting in on.
