Josh Marshall over at Talking Points Memo rips Cheney a new one over his appearance on Meet the Press this morning. Cheney said that "we just don't know" whether Hussein had anything to do with 9/11. Marshall says, in response:

Presumably Mr. Cheney is basing the veracity of this statement on the same principle by which he doesn't know that I can't bench press a thousand pounds.

Michael Moore Encourages Wesley Clark to Run. Filmmaker and author Michael Moore wants Wesley Clark to run for President. Clark's announcement is just days away -- rumor... [TalkLeft: The Politics of Crime]

As if I didn't have enough reason to be pro-Clark already, there's Michael Moore's call for Clark to run - he pretty much nails all the reasons why Clark is my first choice for President. Moore is coming from a similar perspective to my own - we're both left of the party in general, Nader supporters last time around - both of whom regretted Nader's intransigence in the waning days of the election, refusing to encourage his supporters in swing states to vote for Gore...and we're both skeptical of Dean's ability to get elected and (I think) whether he'd be all that good a president. I'm not just supporting Clark because I think he can win - I'm supporting him because I don't think there's anyone else constitutionally allowed to run for the office who could do a better job once there. (No offense, General, but I'd still prefer Bill Clinton, if that was a choice. I'm sure you understand. =) )

In any case, it looks like the announcement will be coming soon now, probably Wednesday in Little Rock. Things are about to get very interesting...

So I'm driving home from spending some time with Arwen last night, and I've got NPR on. I always have NPR on. Anyway, The Savvy Traveler is on and they start talking about their "deal of the week" - Prague. That is, Prague for $399 - flight from Boston (or NY, Newark, Philly), 4 nights stay, breakfast...that's based on two people, of course, and there'd probably be another $130 or so in taxes, they said - I'm not sure whether that's per-person, but I assume so. Still - that's less than $1100 for 4 nights in Prague, at a three star hotel. Even better, for an extra 100 bucks a person, you can upgrade to the Hotel Waldstein Annex (technically next door to the linked hotel, but you still use the same dining facilities, and it may actually be even nicer - bigger rooms, kitchenette, etc...what's more, the Hotel Waldstein is right in the Mana Strana, the Little Quarter, next door to a large palace, right next to the Prague Castle...oh, it's just too damned perfect. Oh - and Amadeus was shot in that neighborhood. You'd never guess who's a big fan of that movie...yeah, Arwen.

I just got a honkin' big annual bonus, so I can afford this. I'm gonna invite Arwen to go to Prague with me next time I talk to her. Think that'll go well? =)
