I hate being tricked.
Our realtor stopped by last night, and I was able to check out the appraiserassessor's report. Apparently, our early hopes were WAY off, as the houses listed in the report as comparison were indeed similar, at least from the outside. At this point, I'm willing to just call it an expensive lesson-- and the lesson learned is that you have to stick with realtors and loan people that you've worked with before. Don't go with an unknown just because you get a kickback from CostCo Foods or whatever. Sigh, I need a cave to crawl into.
Last night, we called our old and trusted loan guy, and he basically said that whoever got us to make an offer on the new house w/o a contingency screwed us over. And whoever said that the bridge loan was a Good Thing screwed us too. He said run away from the bridge loan. Why didn't we go with our trusted loan guy? Why?? Oh yeah, some free stuff from CostCo that doesn't nearly add up to the constant hassle that is Our Current Life.
So, today I get to start all over with the loan bullshit, this time with the people at Wells Fargo. Golly, it's great to be alive.
