Re: Compare and Contrast
I spent a week with my youngest cousin, a little hipster who lives in Austin and is looking to move out here to the Bay Area.
I recommend anyone hang out with people who are almost a decade younger than you are. It’s quite an experience.
There’s a huge difference between 21 and 29. It’s only eight years, but it’s an important eight years.
At 21, you’re more concerned with experiences than goals. You plan your life around “what would be cool”. You don’t do things the same way twice.
Somewhere along the line, my goals became more concrete; I don’t do things just to do them anymore. I expect to see results. I also have become far more set in my ways; I used to be able to change the way I looked or the music I listened to or the way I did things on a whim. It takes a huge effort to change the way I do things now.
As I was hanging out at the skateboard park, I noticed there were tons of cute guys there. It then struck me that they were all probably about ten years younger than I am, which could possibly make me the creepy older woman who hits on younger guys. Yowza.
