Re: Fan art sure has come a long way I first got on the Internet back before the days of the web; I'm talking Adam Curry's mtv.com days, suckas. I have a theory that 2% of the stuff on the Internet is actually the stuff people go to see: commercial sites, web communities, etc. The rest of the 98% is uuencoded porn images from the late 80's and Star Trek fan-fiction slash erotica. However, the Internet evolves, and so does the quality and sophistication of the work from the fan sector. Jill Johansen is a Canadian free-lance artist who I believe is in the upper tier of fan arists. I'm hoping I can get a Nightcrawler sketch out of her. 6:02:29 PM

I'm officially frusterated. Sometime in the past three weeks, some mysterious Radio Userland bug has caused a bunch of people to lose the ability to publish their weblogs to the server, and not to badmouth tech support, but it doesn't seem that anyone has figured out why. I've reinstalled about fifteen times, so if this blog disappears again, you know it's because I'm still wrestling with the problem. I fully intend to restore it to its former incarnation. In the meantime, I've had a lot of time on my hands. I've discovered that Mrs. Dash isn't half bad, as off-the-shelf no-salt seasonings go. I've bought a new IBM ThinkPad with Windows XP. I'm giving it a few weeks to win me over. Mostly, I've been trying to get my blog back. Stay tuned.   3:11:25 PM
