I was chatting with some friends about "Finding Nemo" this weekend.
This one guy said, "Ordinarily I wouldn't promote a domestic movie, but this is as good as anything that comes out of Japan."
I like that attitude: Anything made in the US with a budget = bad, anything out of Japan = good.
I watch a lot of Japanese animation. This is a fallacious statement. Anyone who doesn't believe me, go out and rent an anime series called "The Macross Saga".
Americans are funny. It's great to be an American, but gauche to espouse anything produced in or espoused by America.
