Every year, my family converges in Galveston, TX for a reunion-type thing we poetically call "Beach Week".

If you watch the news, you'll know that Hurricaine Claudette is pummeling the Texas Gulf Coast, with waves towering over the 17-foot sea wall.

So I naturally called mom and asked if we were still going to go. She sort of shrugged it off.

"Yeah, it'll just be a little more humid."

Texans are weird.
