Re: Rock Fashion

I saw Interpol play on the Pepsi Smash (which is a blog entry unto itself) last week. Talk about 80's flashback.

The thing I like best about this group, whose music is pretty good if unoriginal, is their New Romantic revival look.

Those of us who are old enough to remember Spandau Ballet are familiar with this type of look: slick suits and big hair. In the case of Interpol, they look like Goth-punk lounge singers.

I think this is cool. It's been a long time since we've seen this kind of attempt at style from the music industry. Aren't we all a little sick of baseball caps and baggy pants?

(update: I fixed the Spandau Ballet link)
