Actual exchange the other night:

Guy: "What's the name of that guy who played the script guy in 'Boogie Nights'?"

Me: "Philip Seymore Hoffman"

Guy: "No no. He was the personal assistant in 'The Big Lebowski'."

Me: "That was Philip Seymore Hoffman."

Guy: "No! The guy who was the writer in that Mamet movie, 'State and Main'..."

Me: "Philip Seymore Hoffman!" <pause> "Jack Black"

Guy: "Yeah! That's the guy!"
