You, Sir, are no Apple

So Gateway is making lame iLamp wannabes now.

While I was never a fan of the new iMac design. Even the biggest PC fanboy has to admit that the lousy clones are a horrible site.

First off, it looks like a leftover prop from the Death Star set (that's 1977 evil-sheik for ya).

It comes with a floppy disk drive. My dad, who keeps a 286 around so he can use a 1986 copy of Lotus 1-2-3 does not use floppies anymore. Why the hell is Gateway still shipping machines with floppy disk drives????

The back is a horrible mess of archaic ports. Why ship with a PS/2 and mouse port? Kill those. A built-in modem? A 25-pin parallel port? A 9-pin serial port? Why was USB invented if new "revolutionary" machines still use such ancient crap?

CNN says that gamers are the only ones pushing innovation in PC design. While riced-out PCs were never my bag, they are certainly more innovative than the iGateway.

Speaking of rice, I actually did my own little mod today. The PS2 aint got nothing on my LED.
