Hell Awaits
I'm really feeling Morgan's pain as he closes on his new home and deals with all the rigmarole with agents, loans, etc. I went through it all a year and a half ago. Months of looking for a place, hiring contractors, packing, moving, unpacking. What really sucks is after six months I broke up with the person I moved in with and it was all for nothing. Fuuuccckk!!!
So tonight I officially started looking for a place to buy. I have been pretending to look for three months now, just reading The Times real estate section. Later actually circling listings. Eventually I was writing down numbers, but never actually doing anything about it. Tonight I actually scheduled to look at a place, and guess what? The guy didn't show up! Christ!!! Not to mention the place was a hole. Brooklyn Bridge view my ass! Er, dude, the onramp to the bridge is technically not the bridge! I won’t even mention how much he was asking.
So I am already pissed off and technically I haven’t even done anything yet. My only other option is to continue to rent for another year. That's New York rent BTW, bawhahaha.
I can now understand why some people just pack it in and buy a mansion in like Kentucky for $10,000. Hell, I am miserable in NYC, the “greatest city in the world.” How fucked up would I be in Kentucky?
