PEBKAC /peb'kak/

[Abbrev., "Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair"] Used by support people, particularly at call centers and help desks. Not used with the public. Denotes pilot error as the cause of the crash, especially stupid errors that even a "luser" could figure out. Very derogatory. Usage: "Did you ever figure out why that guy couldn't print?" "Yeah, he kept cancelling the operation before it could finish. PEBKAC." Compare

Why the Xbox Failed in Japan (and what to do about it)

I came across this article by a Japanese writer which gives a pretty good insight into the Japanese culture and it's reaction to Microsoft's attempt to take over their video game industry.

Xbox is a prominent member of group B. It's big, ungainly, ridiculed. It even sort of smells different. It probably also carries herpes, doesn't wash often, and steals pocket change from grannies. In short, people are suspicious of it.

The idea of an Xbox cafe sounds laughable, but then again the Japanese are some strange cats.
