End of Year Tech Wrap-up

Tech had a good year in 2002. I still have a job at least. These are a few of my observations for the year.

  1. Linux still did not kill Windows on the desktop (and Linux users could care less).
  2. Email has become almost completely useless thanks to spam. Popups really, really suck.
  3. Blogs! Blogs! Blogs!
  4. Gates gets owned by McNealy.
  5. Bush gets owned by Gates (or is it; Gates owns Bush, hmmm).
  6. The iPod is a phenomenon. The switch ads are goofy but unforgettable. Jag-wire is uber++.
  7. Web services? Maybe next year.
  8. They finally made a good game based on a movie, but they still can’t make a good movie based on a game.
  9. OMG xobx is still HUGE. LOL!
  10. Wireless everywhere. When will Wired get a clue and change its name? Being wired – so not cool.

Happy New Year!
