The New (Two) Towers

CNN has a story on plans to rebuild the World Trade Center using once again skyscrapers.

Amid the raw emotion of those days, Larry Silverstein, leaseholder of the World Trade Center's land, said he wanted the destroyed twin towers rebuilt, in defiance of the terrorists who brought them down.

Come on. There's a thin line between defiance and stupidity if you ask me. If you are going to build skyscrapers on the site just do the terrorists a favor and paint five story high bull’s-eyes on each tower.

The original World Trade Center was attacked twice. It's obvious anything that is built on that spot is going to be a target as long as fundamentalist Islamic nut jobs still exist. Let's put it this way, you could not pay me enough to work there. Period.

Don't be stupid. Just build a memorial park and some "non-in your face" office buildings. There's really no use getting more people killed just for the sake of spite.
