Why men are taller than women

A study to be published in the Proceedings of the Royal Society: Biological Sciences suggests that taller than average men and shorter than average women have greater reproductive succcess. This evolutionary pressure persists and so the relative heights of men and women are unlikely to change any generation soon. Shorter than average women are more successful in reproducing because they tend to reach puberty earlier.
