Chapter 1: Dudley Demented

Harry is back in his Aunt and Uncle’s house at Privet Drive. He has almost no contact from his friends all summer and finds that the Daily Prophet newspaper is writing lots of nasty articles about him, claiming that he made up his story about Voldemort returning.

While returning home after wandering the streets by himself at night, he runs into his cousin Dudley when they are both attacked by dementors. Just as a dementor is trying to administer the dementor’s kiss to Dudley, Harry summons his Patronus and repels the creatures.

Mrs Figg, the batty neighbor who is fond of cats turns up and reveals that she knows more about the magical world than she had ever let on.
