Chapter 6: The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black

The children all try to work out what the weapon might be before they go to sleep. Over breakfast, they get to work cleaning magical creatures out of the house and avoiding the screams of Sirius’ mother.

Fred and George have invented Skiving Snackboxes. One half makes you sick so that you have to leave class and then the other half fixes you. They are developing their jokes with the money Harry won in the Triwizard Tournament and donated to them.

Kreacher is very rude to them all but Hermione tries to be nice to him – she is still keen to free house-elves. However, Kreacher knows too much about the Order and can’t be freed.

A family tree of the Black’s is full of dark wizards, including the Malfoys, but the good wizards in the family, such as Sirius, have been scrubbed from the tree.

Harry is having bad dreams about corridors and locked doors that make his scar prickle.
