Decisions with a deadline, followed by an outlay of cash, or not: According to various reminders I now have 27 days in which to decide on continuing with this weblog and 65 days in which to decide about .Mac. One or the other or both?

On second thought: Okay, I've thought it over and I'll offer a link to my tiny seaside community through some pictures I took this winter. When it's like this, nobody comes.

News items, commentary and the lack here thereof: I see by reading other weblogs that I should be filling these pages with news items taken from other Web sites and then commenting on them. That seems like a lot of work to me.

However, it does seem to be pretty much the only way to build up readership other than linking to another weblog writer and having them then, in kindness, link back.

I see I have 27 days left before I have to pay. Time enough to decide.

Where's the link to my tiny seaside community?: I thought about putting one in. Then I thought, no, let my reader imagine where I live. And then there's the matter of privacy, although you do give that up somewhat by appearing here. Plus who wants more people outside my place on a weekend, slamming the doors of their RVs and screaming with delight as they unload their sea kayaks? I believe I have taken the right course with this.

Nostalgia: I used to live in a tiny seaside community of unpaved roads and funny little cedar homes tilting off the mountainside, where the only non-residents we saw were just plain lost. But now I reside in a recreational destination. This is not an improvement.
