Bloggers don't appreciate press from ignorant, neophyte blog failures like myself, because blog failures like myself are prone to sweeping philosophical generalizations concerning the nature of blogging.
I'll be appearing on TSS this coming week, btw, to demonstrate how to make a quick and dirty digital photo album with Dreamweaver and Fireworks MX. I've also suggested to them that I do the blog-template tutorial on their show (once I write it up, of course).

I suppose one way of aggregating blogs on multiple systems would be to use such a tool as a front-end, but I'd be worried about adding more complexity to the process. As I get up to speed with Movable Type (experimental MT blog at Meme List), I notice that despite MT's famous "trickiness" it has many of the hallmarks of a second-generation tool. Among them, detailed explanation of how to import your blog from other tools, such as Blogger.
I'll be running a comparison of Radio and MT this coming week.

I know I could remember to copy and text-massage the log every night, but knowing myself as I do, that won't work.

the API doesn't support any of the PRO features, such as titles.

With a 3-line hack to Movable Type's source code (gosh, I love having the source code to my software) I added a new function to its Google search capability - I can now do dynamic google searches on each and every one of the titles of my blog posts.

Since I don't post much personal stuff here (see bodega for the excruciating details of my life), I can't say I've seen to many disturbing search terms yet, though it was strange to see four or five referers yesterday from people searching Google for the "Ex-Dictator Broke, Living with Mom" story.

While most of the feedback about the blogs has been positive, there has been some concerned feedback, especially from the blogging community. Companies like Macromedia don't normally use blogs to communicate with customers.
Most the discussion of corporate (or enterprise) blogging has been about internal knowledge sharing, but this idea of using the blog medium as a corporate communications vehicle bears some thought. Does it coopt the blog channel? Are there trust issues? Do you feel like you're reading an advertisement? What if a corporate blogger writes something that contradicts the company's messaging? Will we start having to check affiliations when reading a new blog?
Meanwhile, I think I'd better start reading Matt Brown's Dreamweaver Blog.
