Doonesbury © 2002 Garry TrudeauMorgan N. Sandquist was the first to notice back on October 21st when he posited the question: "Do You Ever Want to See Yourself in Doonesbury?" Garry Trudeau does the blog thing — mock the blogs that is. Is he right on, or just clueless? You be the judge.

Something from the referral bag: Where can I find that New Yorker cartoon about acountants?

Which one of them? Well, if you are looking for the most recent one, I have described it nicely in an old post. (Yes, described. Do you think it's cheap to license New Yorker property?)

The Raven writes: "I followed a link on Dolinov's page and found the Raven in German. See if you can get Driver 8 auf Deutsch over there. Man, I gotta kick out of that!"

Well, my German is lacking. (Actually, my German is zero, unless you want to include Achtung!) But I did get this weblog translated. Treiber 8, anyone?

Something from the referral bag: Do you know any amateur novelists?

Well, if by amataeur you mean they are writing their novels "as a pastime rather than as a profession," I guess I could introduce you to Maxine Locker, Mark Hoback and Diego Doval. Unless they are actually expecting to make money out of them (like el Señor Farr, who doesn't make the cut as an amateur). In which case, I know no amateur novelists.

Something from the referral bag: In case you aren't tired yet of me name-dropping Jonathan Franzen around here, here are two more mentions:

Something from the referral bag: Another click coming from a Web mail server, only this one offers a clue as to what post from this weblog was linked; it seems the message's subject line read "FW: Gas Companies," which, after a little archive-digging, indubitably is a reference to an old post with the lead "Lying through the mail."

Damn! How do I do it?
