Lill Morris, Li'l Abner?

Lill Morris, Lill Morris . . . has anyone else been seeing that name up there the past 24 hours--(in the title of the last post)--and been cracking up?

Lill Morris, Lill Abner, Lill Anything. Lill by itself, I never really thought about it. But pair it with anything and . . .

Does anyone else think every one of those combinations sounds a little bit ridiculous? A little bit Dogpatch?

No coincidence she got that nickname, I think. I'm betting she does introduces herself that way--Lill Morris--and people supress snickers left and right. Oh my God, that's how she got cast on this show! I'm picturing the casting agent now: "Mark? Mark you've got to get a load of this one. I've got the first Survivor contestant for you from Dogpatch!"

Nicknames stick for a reason, and it probably started with Lill all by itself, but the first time she said the whole thing out loud, somebody burst out laughing, and Lill just stood there looking perplexed. She still doesn't understand the funny looks she gets--she just thinks humans make lots of funny faces--but the rest of the world understands exactly who she is.

Captures the woman kinda perfectly, doesn't it?

I hope that doesn't sound too cruel. I've just been struggling for three weeks to put my finger on exactly why that woman bugs me, and suddenly she doesn't bother me at all. Now she's just a special student, because I finally understand what she's all about. And it was right there in her name.

Aside from Richard Hatch, I have never, ever remembered a Survivor's last name, but from now, she will always be Lill Morris to me.

(Or will she be Lill Abner? I'll have to let you know.)
