Survivor: More crap from Burton Roberts

Burton. Blech!

Haven't seen The Early Show yet, but just read his final final words:

It's been an amazing experience, to say the least, and a series of ups and downs throughout the entire time. Amazing to have been voted out, given the opportunity to win a chance to come back in, get voted back in, and participate for a number of more weeks and a number of more spots, going out in the top five. Can't complain too much; however, it's not Top Two, which I was shooting for. But at this point in the game, I knew that if I didn't keep getting the Immunities, I was the first one to go.

Can't wait to pat himself on the back, can he? His ouster is always a sign of his superiority. Not nearly the abomination of his first final words, but still a strong undercurrent of it.

And more bullshit: First to go? He must have forgotten losting three in a row to D. I'm sure he meant third to go.

Survivor: Burton Roberts, gets his just rewards again

I got locked out of my blog for a day again, and unfortunately it was Survivor night. Here's what I posted in the comments of the last Survivor post (where the discussion is going, so head there with comments):

and i was all giddy with glee. and mixed emotions, but mostly glee.

as soon as burton picked jon, i was shaking my head. dumb, dumb, move. why not just invite those three women together for a three-day powwow to plot your downfall? and what is with people working to win reward challenges anyway, at a time when they're supposed to show some vulnerability?

once they were laughing their asses off on the island about the women being too dumb to turn on them, i figured their number was up. classic survivor downfall. the minute you get cocky about your invincibility, you've signed your own death warrant. happens every time.

it was funny to watch him see right through the act, though. i will admit that he's a lot smarter them in a lot of ways. but not smart enough, apparently. smart enough, just not humble enough.

now about my second thoughts last week that maybe burton did deserve to win:

those were firmly put to rest when he gushed over the joy of finally sharing a reward with someone he liked. blech! DEFinitely a warped piece of crap to choose that hellspawn as the likeable chap. what is wrong with him?

(not that i could bear 24 hours alone with lill, and sandra might really get on my nerves. but at least they're not living demons.)

and it was kind of fun to see him booted a second time.

and that jury! isn't that the first time any jury has ever responded with open glee?

now what was with burthon's farewell speech? a bit of the sore loser again. nothing approaching his first abomination, but still, pretty petty. what was all the "hope lill can live with herself." after snickering about blindsiding the last several, engineering their downfall?

the final irony was that he was sure he had all that pinned on jon. from the looks of the jury reaction, nobody was buying that story.

can't wait to see him make another ass of himself on The Early Show.

Coming home to update remotely

Back in Denver, updating via dialup to make sure it still works.

I guess I had a rare power outage here, and it rebooted my desktop, where the blog resides. My ex was nice enough to come over to start the blog software, but I forgot to tell him one thing. And I discover now that my IP address has changed. Very odd. I barely know what an IP address is, but I know it's the url I have to enter into the browser window to reach my home pc. Does it change every time I reboot, get a new modem connection?

(If any techies are out there, I connect through dsl, but not using the modem sw, but windows xp's cause i had lots of trouble with the modem.XP lists it as a wan miniport (PPPOE).

Anyway, it's a new address to type in, which I had no idea.

So it was only one day I couldn't post, but unfortunately, it was Survivor night.

So I added one post in the comments, will post it up here in a minute.

Just got in. Took the latish flight so we could attend the client's xmas party. then it was delayed another hour.

i am so freaking tired. and beat. tough week. but i'll post a bit more, and then crash. tomorrow i get to play. hard.
