Survivor All Stars -- Jumping the shark already?

I was thinking Survivor would officially jump the shark when it crowned the All Star winner at the end of this season.

But it might have come early.

This was the dullest Survivor opening ever, but a country mile.

Let me rephrase that. After seven rivetting openers, this one was more or less a boring turd.

Some great moments toward the end, but by then . . .

I sure do hope it picks up fast. I was counting on this being the best Survivor ever. A wonderful little swan song, befored it faded off with the post-all-stars riff raff casts.

I can only hope I'm wrong about that, too.

Wow. Tina's gone!

Wrong, wrong, wrong, I've been wrong on just about everything tonight.

Can hardly believe they already threw out Tina. I love her. And I didn't realize how painful it would be to see such a great player tossed off so fast. Richard Hatch, I wouldn't bat an eye. But Tina. That's kind of painful.

Part of me thought--obviously--that they would want to go that way, but I just thought the short-term need to win challenges would win out.

Ethan must be shitting. He's a marked man. Bummer too, cause I really liked him, too. And I like looking at him, too. He's been hitting the gym, too. Looking maybe even better than Colby. Doesn't he look younger, too? He looks great. Or am I just comparing him to the way he looked with the beard. Maybe that ages him.

When's he going to ditch the Sideshow Bob dreads, though?

(They're repeating tonight's episode Tuesday, by the way, if you missed it.)

Survivor All Stars: Finally getting good

OK, not it's getting good. Really good.

The plotting tonight is so much more interesting.

The two women going right for the prior winners. I expected some of that, but do they want to keep losing challenges?

Interesting to see the ex lovers taking each other right on.

I think the oldsters and strongers are going to toss out the weak ones.

Jenna or Jerri. Could be either one.

(Not in the long run, but the early rounds.)

OK, I'm watching tribal council, and Jenna is really dumb. Why in the hell would she show her cards and say she'd never vote for a prior winner? Why not just hand them a gun and tell them she has to be eliminated?

I think she just did herself in.

Survivor All Stars: Wrong losers

Well, the immunity challenge ended in the exact opposite order of what I predicted.

Damn.

I was predicting in general how each tribe would do, and Alicia's team is fighting the most, but they did win the challenge.

Now, who to get booted? Crap, I don't know. I predicted Jenna, so maybe I should just stick with her. I had forgotten that she had been dating Ethan, though. So I'm switching to Jerri. Other weakest person.

Survivor All Stars: random shit midway through the show

Sue's a riot. She is such a man. Not so much in a postive way. But she cracks me up.

Rudy and Rupert. Good alliance. But they better add to it. How far is two going to get you?

Rob and Amber. Idiot alliance. They deserve each other.

Kinda cool that they gave them nothing. Not necessarily interesting television, but potentially interesting.

Man, why did Colby quit working out? Damn. That's disappointing. I meant to post an interview--which I'll put up tomorrow, saying he's in much worse shape. I thought he was exagerating. apparently not. Hmmmm.

(Update on Colby's bod. Maybe I just caught a quick glance. He's not so bad. But a long way from his glory days. Hasn't his agent been on him about this?)

What exactly is Richard's strategy here?

I wonder if this will get more interesting. I thought it would be way more interesting than the others, but so far it is so less so. Every other season, there has been the rush of new situations, new characters, new dyamics. I knew that would be lacking, but thought the new dynamic of everyone knowing each other and being smarter about it -- maybe in time. God, not yet. But it's early.

Now they're going

Finally. The alliances paranoia on Richard Hatch's team was pretty funny/interesting.

It is going to be a different game.

But not necessarily all that smarter. Already, the three women hatched their alliance without bothering to look around and see if anyone was watching.

What a dull start

Sue: "I don't mean to be a bitch, but . . .

Heeheehee.

These interviews are really boring. First dull Survivor opening. Hope it picks up quickly. Quit the freaking chatter.

This is like watching one of those lame sitcom clips shows. Cut it out!

Survivor All Stars: Over the top opening

But not in a good way.

Taking themselves WAY too seriously.

First opening I didn't like.

Getting better, though.

 I still love this show.

Colby doesn't look so hot in his opening shot. But a good beard growth. Guess he's not going home right away.

It's starting!

Finally. I think.

Sport interviews. I tell you. I understand people liking sports, but the post-game interviews? Does anyone ever say anything?

We want our Survivor, dammit.

I'm here, keyboard at the ready.
