Colby started the season as my #2 choice to win. I really liked the guy, and not just to look at him. Man, did he take a steady ride downhill. No one horrible thing, just lots and lots of little ones. He really is kinda stuck on himself, isn't he?
And I'm tired of him bitching our my wonderful Shii Ann.
I loved it when she said the two of them both lacked respect for each other's games, but she wasn't stupid enough to tell him. And tonight, he reaped the fruit of that stupidity.
He would be alive and well tonight if he had not told her off. What the hell was he thinking? What did he have to gain by it? Nothing: he just thought he was so damn good he could go around telling people off and making enemies because he was Colby, nobody was ever going to vote him off.
It's interesting to watch the reactions of the ones who were never vote off before--although it's something of a stretch for him to put himself in that category; it's completely arbitrary that the final vote is for rather than against, yet he seems to have chosen to believe all this time that they did not vote against him, they merely voted for Tina. Whatever keeeps your head fat.
I was rooting all night for him to go. I figured from the start it was him or Ethan. I was expecting Jerri to rally the votes against him, but thrilled to see that alien Lex step up to the plate.
I pretty much figured one of the prettyboy athletes was due, and once they dumped one they would keep the other. Too scary to dump all their athletic ability. The merge might be close, but they never know what twists Burnett might have ahead.
Huh. They might still dump Ethan. But I do believe the chances of him going were much higher both of them on the team. And I'm really rooting for Ethan this season--and enjoying looking at him. And it's kind of fascinating to watch them slow-torture him. I shudder to admit that. OK, how's this: it's fascinating to watch him respond to their slow torture. That's actually more accurate, as well as sounding much less sick.
I was jumping up and down when Colby's third card flipped up. Jerri has again revealed her true semi-satanic nature, but Colby was dead right that she can never win. They can get rid of her anytime. Colby had the power--to win challenges and to call for ousters. He had to go when they had the chance.
And I doubt anyone in Survivor history has ever been so happy to see their vote fail as Ethan must have been to watch his chief rival voted out.
At least I hope he was smart enough to see Colby for the rival he was. Colby ordered the team to select him for the explicit purpose of eliminating him--but then quickly forgot that, and chose two different people for elimination first. That's one of the things that annoyed me about him, actually. He ordered the team to do one thing, then issued two contradictory orders in a row. Power-hungry jerk. Power-hungry and scatter-brained, not a great combination.
Seems like once he got close to his rival, he felt a sudden kinship. Really seemed to lie around in the shelter side by side with his fellow stud plotting the demise of their inferiors.
I'm glad he's gone.
