My life's dream was finally realized this week. It's still hard to believe, but I sold a book to a big NY publisher.
And it's the right time, I think -- a great project, and I feel ready to write it.
The book went to Dutton, an imprint of Viking/Penguin. My agent wants me to wait until she gets the announcment into Publisher's Weekly or Publisher's Lunch before I say more.
But I'm still celebrating. And plunging in to writing it. It will be a few years before it arrives on bookshelves.
It's about Columbine, and the working title is "A Lasting Impression on the World," from a passage in Eric Harris's journal.
I was in Chicago for the auction, so I went out with a group of friends there, had a really nice time. A great friend there organized it, got the champagne, took me to dinner. Really touching. I was so happy. Still levitating.
