University of Colorado–Graduate Instructor / September 1995 to May 1996

Achieved “A” student evaluation in each course taught. Elected to departmental re-engineering committee: proposed/implemented significant changes within 6 months.

Arthur AndersenManagement Consulting  Manager / March 1990 to September 1994

Led diverse consulting projects in the U.S., Kuwait and Bahrain. Specialized in strategic planning combined with computer development, and transferring ideas across industries.  Achieved international expert status in group facilitation. Rapidly advanced to Manager. Extensively involved in proposals, sales and employee hiring/evaluation/promotion. Selected to teach several courses in the U.S. Europe and the Middle East.

r      Led $3 million redevelopment project at Kuwait Oil Co. following the Gulf War (sole oil producer in the country: 2 million barrels/day). Headed team of 24 managers and consultants from 7 countries speaking 5 native languages. Identified $50 million in annual savings and triggered company-wide re-organization.

r      Co-founded the Business Consulting division in Andersen’s Kuwait office, and assisted similar startup in Bahrain. Trained indigenous consultants, introduced concepts to government/industry leaders. Led the major initial projects: re-engineering at the National Bank of Kuwait ($15 billion in assets); strategic systems plans at Kuwait Oil Tanker Company and Gulf Aluminum Rolling Mill Co. (in Bahrain).

r      Worked on operational redesign teams at companies such as GTE, Budget Rent a Car and Sphon Hospital. Identified over $200 million in potential annual savings at GTE.

r      Led teams in all systems development phases: planning, selection/development, and implementation. Specialized in LAN-based systems at small- to medium-sized companies, working closely with the CEO or CFO. Performed without prior industry experience on nearly every project; clients included a broadcast group, liquor distributor, eyeglass manufacturer, blood bank, supermarket chain and religious foundation.

Electronic Data Systems–Systems Analyst / July 1986 to March 1990

Promoted to Product Development Group after 2 consecutive year-long implementations on complex Blue Cross mainframe systems, each greater than 200 man-years, across 20+ states.

r      Selected for start-up team to develop cutting-edge new business venture: medical studies based on health insurance claims data. Promoted again, formed marketing team.

r      Discovered, analyzed data integrity problems in General Motors’ $200 million healthcare cost- reduction program; led to sweeping changes, creation of ongoing data analyst position.

The Daily Illini–Reporter to Editor / August 1979 to January 1983

Published over 300 articles at college paper, including exclusive interviews with George Bush, John B. Andersen, Adlai Stevenson III, U2. Proposed/created/edited new “futures” section.
